In our office we refer to our orthotics as a MAGO®️ which stands for Maxillary Anterior Guided Orthotic. It is a custom-made, clear appliance that is worn 24/7, similar to how a cast or brace would be worn for a dislocated joint in a knee or other joint. The patient comes in every week for 10-12 weeks to see Dr. Clark for evaluations and orthotic adjustments as the jaw begins to stabilize.

The MAGO®️ is designed to help establish a stable jaw position while serving as both a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. As a diagnostic tool, the MAGO®️ helps Dr. Clark identify the underlying factors contributing to your pain (migraine headaches, jaw pain, ear pain or facial pain) and other TMJ-related symptoms so he can develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. As your jaw becomes more stable, he can better determine how your jaw position may be contributing to those symptoms while helping reduce stress on your jaw joints and surrounding muscles.
