MAGO: The key to diagnosing your pain
In our office we refer to our orthotics as a MAGO which stands for Maxillary Anterior Guided Orthotic. The purpose of the custom made orthotic is to be the diagnostic tool to find the root cause of a patient’s migraine headaches, jaw pain, ear pain and facial pain. It is a custom-made, clear appliance that is worn 24/7, similar to how a cast or brace would be worn for a dislocated joint in a knee or other joint. The patient comes in every week for 10-12 weeks to see Dr. Clark for evaluations and orthotic adjustments as the jaw begins to stabilize.
